DURBAN - In a session held at the Durban Magistrate Court, two individuals, identified as Accused 1 and 3, associated with the tragic incident involving the deaths of rapper Kiernan "AKA" Forbes and his companion, chef and author Tebello "Tibz" Motsoane at Wish on Florida in February last year, are set to enter pleas of not guilty to all charges.

Present in court were Lindokuhle Thabani Mkhwanazi, a 30-year-old married man from Mtubatuba, and Siyanda Eddie Myeza, a 21-year-old unemployed individual, whose bail application was deliberated upon.

Lindokuhle Mkwanazi, represented by Adv Mlotshwa, stated in his affidavit that he intends to plead not guilty, citing the lack of evidence against him by the state. As a taxi owner, he emphasized his rootedness in the community, his pending fatherhood, and his ongoing endeavor to build a family home, underscoring his motivation for seeking bail.

Similarly, Siyanda Myeza, through his legal representative, expressed his intention to plead not guilty, although his affidavit was deemed incomplete. Despite being a father of three and currently out on bail for another murder case, he highlighted his intermittent employment and financial responsibilities towards his children as reasons for seeking bail, emphasizing his consistent attendance at court proceedings.

These two individuals are part of a group of five suspects, including Lindani Zenzele Ndimande, Mziwethemba Harvey Gwabeni, and Lindokuhle Mhlaliseni Ndimande, facing multiple charges, such as murder, attempted murder, and possession of illegal firearms and ammunition.

While the affidavits for the other three accused were pending, the court adjourned the matter to Monday for further proceedings. The state opposes bail for all five suspects, who will remain in custody until their next court appearance.
